Chartered in 1982. HFI is focused on strengthening families and the primary prevention of child abuse and neglect. Positive outcomes of our programs, provided at no charge to the client families, include greater self-sufficiency for the families within the community and virtually no reports of child abuse or neglect. This is the Power of Prevention.
(BTFL) was established in 2005 as a non-profit 501(c)3 organization to provide wellness programs to Houston’s non-profit organizations that serve women, children, adults and senior citizens - many of whom are disenfranchised, abused, or learning disabled.
Our mission is to promote self –esteem and optimize physical and mental health through supervised fitness activities. Understanding that most organizations that serve the disabled and under privileged are under significant financial constraints, we will recruit, train, and supervise qualified volunteers to work closely with not-for-profit organizations to enhance the health, fitness, and recreational activities of the clients whom they serve. Through our programs, BTFL participants experience growth in self esteem, a spirit of self and community, and increased health benefits.
There are a lot of choices out there for materials and products to use in our homes. But how do we know which ones are safe for our families and the environment? BuildClean was formed to help answer that question.
BuildClean is a Houston-based 501(c) not-for-profit organization founded in 2007. The organization funds research and educates consumers, businesses and organizations about safe, healthy and green materials. In addition to coordinating and funding research, BuildClean serves as a resource, offering information on some of the most common indoor health hazards, green and healthy home building and product certification programs and groups working every day around the world to provide assurance and guidance to the consumer about the products used in the home.
